Preferences

Available from the Tools menu, AVCataloger allows for several settings to further customize application settings. The following describes the menu options under the preferences menu item:

Enable Sounds: If enabled, allows for built-in sounds such as menu and toolbar clicks, docking sounds, etc,.

Menu Animation: User customization of animation method, same as in Office 2000. Settings are: none, random, slide, unfold.

Menu Style: User customization of menu system to choose from available appearances such as Office 2000, XP, 2003 or Visual Studio 2005 styles.

Display Gradient on NAV Toolbar: If using a high-color mode (Windows Display Settings), left hand Nav Bar has ability to display a green gradient effect. You can return to standard Windows colors by deselecting this option, if available. May not be available if not supported depending on the Windows configuration.

Show Reminders on Startup: If checked, displays overdue Loan Log items at program startup.

Backup on Exit: If checked, the backup routine will run when AVCataloger is shut down. You will be prompted to choose a file name and save path for the backup routine.

Compact on Exit: If checked and Backup on Exit not selected, the data file will be optimized and compacted on exiting AVCataloger. This results in optimized performance and minimizes file size. Backing up runs a compact routine prior to backup therefore it is run in conjunction with the Backup on Exit if selected.

XP Style Menus: Toggle between Microsoft Office 2000 and the new Microsoft Office XP style menu and toolbar look and feel.
