Graphs

AVCataloger offers the most powerful graphing/charting of any software package. High speed graphs with user-interaction and advanced customization are available. Graph styles include vertical bar charts, horizontal bar charts, and pie charts. Graphs can be manipulated, scaled, zoomed, formatted, and exported to various formats. Figure 1 below shows an example of a bar chart.

The graphs toolbar provides access to the main customizations as well as by right-clicking on the graph itself, bringing up a popup menu guiding you through the basic features available. Across the toolbar, the first icon is the ability to print the graph. If you would like to copy the graph to the Windows Clipboard, the second option will send the graph resource to the Windows Clipboard, which can then be pasted into any Windows Clipboard compliant application. If the graph is date filterable, click the date icon from the toolbar to reset the date criteria for advanced data analysis. The graphs can be exported to Portable Network Graphics (PNG) a lightweight picture file type or the higher quality JPEG picture type. Clicking the Undo button will reset the graph to the initial configuration if any scaling or modifications were made to the graph. At any time hitting the letter "R" on your keyboard will RESET the graph to the default as well. Clicking the Legend button on the toolbar toggles the Legend on the chart as well as the option to place a border around the plot area or show grid lines. If you hold your mouse pointer over any section of the graph data, the value and type of data will appear, as seen in Figure 1 above. If you click the Values button on the toolbar, the values will be reflected at all times, and shown in percentages in the pie chart style. Various effects can be set from the effects drop down selector to further customize the graph.

Changing the style selector, the graph can be viewed as a bar chart or a pie chart, as shown in Figure 2 above. Notice how the Values button is clicked and the percentages (only in pie style) are reflected. Slices of the pie can be clicked and dragged out from center, hitting the "R" key on your keyboard will reset and collapse the pie slices to their original positions.

By clicking the Paint icon on the right side of the toolbar a formatting toolbar appears allowing color scheme changes for further customization. Various 3D effects can be achieved creating an outstanding presentation of your data, all of which is printable, exportable, or easily inserted in a presentation if necessary.

Graphs can be rotated in 3D, zoomed, scaled, and repositioned.
