Data Manager

The Data Manager is used to modify lists such as the Media, Genre, Sub-Genre, Locations, Ranking, Stores, etc. Items in the drop down lists within AVCataloger cannot be deleted if the item is used. The data containing these records must be changed to remove references to the list items before the list items can be deleted. Click the buttons across the top of the data manager (Figure 1) to change the four main areas, or click the data sections from the left hand bar. The Data Manager will advise how many times the list item is used, and if so, cannot be deleted. As the bottom of the Data Manager states with the * note, for lists with exception of the Ranking, new values can be added to the list by simply typing in the new item when entering a new row of information to that area. The item, such as Media, if not listed, will be added to the list once the cursor is moved out of the respective column. Rank fields can be re-worded, but additional ranks cannot be added, nor can ranks be removed.
