Conditional Formatting

Conditional formatting is formatting that occurs on your data as it is changed/loaded. For example, if a Wish List item is checked as purchased, the conditional formatting formats the data to show a line through the text (strikethrough). You could configure a conditional formatting option in an area where if the Price is greater than $50, the row can show as red text. Conditional formatting is identical to that within Microsoft Outlook, if you are familiar with the functionality in Outlook. Figure 1 below shows the conditional formatting main dialog.

The Wish List comes with the Purchased rule already configured. As many rules as desired can be configured. Configuring is simple and is accomplished by clicking the Add button. The condition configuration screen appears as shown in Figure 2 below.

Figure 2. Conditional Formatting Conditions

Set the conditions as per the dialog and then click OK. Once the condition is set, and named, choose the Font configuration such as shown above, gray and strikethrough, 8 pt Tahoma. If a back color is desired, such as a highlight yellow, this can be set by the Back Color button, and if the condition requires modification, it can be accessed by clicking the Condition button.
